Dr. Chris Dougherty is among the nation’s most innovative orthopedic surgeons, with fellowship training in arthroscopy and sports medicine. He and his professional staff provide an accommodating treatment environment for patients of all ages, combined with the very latest orthopedic surgery procedures and techniques. Dr. Dougherty is the team physician for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, a AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
The First and Only Sports Medicine Fellowship Program In Arkansas
In 2010, Dr. Dougherty completed the two-year approval process to start Arkansas’ first and only sports medicine fellowship program, which offers one year of specialty training in sports medicine. Dr. Tim Howard is currently studying under Dr. Dougherty and is the second fellow in the program.
During the fellowship, Dr. Howard will receive intensive sub-specialty training from Dr. Dougherty. Once the fellowship is complete, any physician leaving the program will have the skills and knowledge necessary to practice within the sports medicine field without the supervision of another physician. About Dougherty Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
At our office we provide diagnosis, treatment, injury prevention and rehabilitation services for injuries to the shoulder, elbow, knee, wrist, ankle and hip using arthroscopic techniques for fast recovery and minimal down time. Dr. Dougherty performs Tommy John surgery, double bundle ACL surgery, hip scopes, cartilage transplant surgery, and clavicle nail procedures.
